GIAB in Almedalen
David and Goliath – The collaboration creating profitability in a circular economy
In the transition to a circular economy, it is of crucial importance to implement new business models that are more economically profitable and that generate more positive effects on people and the environment than the models currently in use. GIAB has achieved success with this, and the company is now one of Sweden’s foremost examples of how the theory behind the circular economy can be converted into a profitable business. In just five years, the company’s turnover has grown from MSEK 0.5 to MSEK 100. New, sustainable business models arise by means of partnership between small innovative companies and major agents in society – such partnerships have clearly resulted in large-scale financial savings and tangible, measurable results of work with sustainability issues with positive effects. GIAB is hosting an hour-long discussion regarding sustainable business and the unexploited potential of major companies in the circular economy.
